Women Now Make Up Almost Half of Gamers

The Wall Street Journal (US) today posted an article on it’s website that states women now make up 48% of digital gamers in the U.S., with women over 18 more numerous than under-18 boys, previously seen as a key industry demographic this is according to a report recently published by the Entertainment Software Association. WSJ also states that games developers are increasingly targeting a growing community of female gamers, as a way of boosting an industry expected to generate sales of $100 billion this year.
