The first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 DLC is due 24th January 2012 which consists of 2 new maps, this kicks off the 9 month Elite content season and is the first of “at least 20″ content drops–meaning new maps, new missions and more deploys!!
If you are a Call of Duty Elite premium member you get the downloads first, the rest have to wait for the DLC bundle to become available. The game’s first content drop kicks off the “Modern Warfare 3 Content Season for Call of Duty Elite,” Infinity Ward and Activision announced today, a nine-month-long series of downloadable add-ons for the blockbuster shooter.
Rather than making available a handful of map packs in a cluster every few months, Elite subscribers will get their content bit by bit. The first two bits are multiplayer maps named Liberation (based on New York City’s Central Park) and Piazza (modeled after an Italian seaside village). Both are also playable in Modern Warfare 3′s Survival Mode.
It is rumoured that future content drops will be more varied, adding new Spec Ops missions, new game modes and other things there’s also there’ a possibility of new weapons being added to the game.

Liberation is perfect for long-range sniper and LMG fire, with mounted turrets on either end that lend power to anyone brave enough to expose themselves in exchange for deadly firepower.

Piazza is full of tight corners and branching pathways which pose great risk at every turn. Close-range combat is the best way to go and attacks from behind, above and below are an ever-constant threat.
Liberation and Piazza are 2 of the 5 planned content drops for Call of Duty Elite premium members on Xbox 360 coming in the first 3 months of 2012.Another is scheduled for February and then 2 more follow in March.
After which all these maps then get bundled up into the Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection, which is available for purchase by the entire Call of Duty: MW3 player community on Xbox Live –so for those who haven’t purchased an Elite premium membership you have to wait to get it.
Infinity Ward and Activision have not yet provided a date for Modern Warfare 3 DLC for those who play the game on the PlayStation 3 or PC. It is expected that those who don’t play on the Xbox360 may have to wait a while to play the new maps and modes though.
