The Real Time Worlds Latest

Begbies Traynor, the company dealing with the administration of APB developer Realtime Worlds, has told Gamesindustry.biz that “some positive interest” has been shown in the company’s assets.

Previously, a statement was issued by the business rescue and restructuring specialist, confirming that company representatives Ken Pattullo and Paul Dounis had been appointed as joint administrators of the Dundee studio – citing a lukewarm reception for APB as the cause of the company winding up.

“We are currently involved in a consultative process with the 200 staff employed in Dundee,” said Mr Dounis, adding: “Our intention is to continue trading the company while we attempt to find a going concern buyer which will safeguard the future of the business.”

The statement also made clear that it was hoped that any buyer would be continuing the running and development of APB, and confirmed that the administrators will be employing some of the 42 staff from the company’s parent office in Boulder, Colorado to assist in selling the business. A further statement from Begbies Traynor is expected this afternoon.

Open Feint is my next site and this offers one free app a day. Open Feint is a lot more than just a site that gives away one app a day, its a way that you can seriously show your mates who’s boss, and how? well Open Feint allows global highscores on a lot of games and also lets you share the scores with sites like Facebook. It’s slogan is “The coolest thing since sliced Awesome” and it really is great.

When looking for a new game this is one site that I check out first, especially its featured page.

What fun is beating your own high score, when you can beat your best friend’s? Playing games is more fun when there’s something on the line. So whether you’re challenging a friend’s best time or trying to get the highest score on the global leaderboard, OpenFeint helps you compete and rewards you for succeeding.

This next one appears to be a lot more recognised amongst the developers but that does not always mean that the games are not worth getting from the 2 sites above, far from it. Anyway Free App A Day….

This site is designed in a way that the content is set out like a calendar with the newest being the top row and obviously the bottom right being older. Unfortunately again, this means that some apps do become “paid” quite quickly after FAAD has given so many away. I have had an app or two from there before and mentioned it to other people of which they comment that it has now gone back to paid. BE QUICKER!!
the site does have its own App – that is free. I find using this could give you the advantage over friends too.

They are currently my top sites and most have RSS or another option to keep updated so there really is no excuse to not getting something for free.

If you know of any other websites that are worth writing about then please leave a comment below and i’ll check it out. If your comment does not show straight away it could be held for moderation do not keep typing it icon smile APP Giveaway Links

So you probably got used to using your regular controllers for your Wii, XBox 360 or PS3. That is what most people did and many of them never thought much of it either.
