Most of us would love to own a cat or dog/be owned by a cat or dog, but for numerous reasons its just impossible to manage everyday life with the responsibility of owning a pet. Well those days will soon be over.Koch Media and dtp young entertainment have today announced that they are coming together to bring Cats & Dogs: Pets at Play to the Nintendo 3DS and it will also make use of the augmented reality technology. The purpose of Cats & Dogs: Pets at Play is to take care of your virtual 4 legged friend, and to create a bond with them through playing and teaching them tricks. Once your virtual pet has been trained, owners will be able to enter them into sport competitions and use their winnings to buy their favourite pets treats and accessories.

Game Features
-      Watch your pet come alive utilising the amazing Augmented Reality Card, included with the delivery of the Nintendo 3DS system.
-      16 different mini-games including: teaching tricks, playing ball, swimming, petting, agility course and more.

How Virtua Tennis: World Tour Edition Uses The PS Vita Cameras

Mie Kumagai, Executive Producer for Virtua Tennis at SEGA has let loose on how the PSVita uses its inbuilt cameras with Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition.The PlayStation Vita has both front facing and rear facing cameras, with supporting features such as face detection, head detection and head tracking that can be used for personalisation and customisation.

There was a great opportunity with Virtua Tennis to allow the player to personalise their experience as much as possible using the front and rear cameras.

You can put your face in the game using the front camera and rise up the World rankings as you progress through your very own World tour career, competing against top players along the way.

The face detection function of the front camera allows you to import your face onto the PlayStation Vita, before customising every aspect of your player. You can change your appearance, kit and tennis accessories to make your player as similar to you as possible. You can also go on World Tour as your favourite player.

For the rear camera we used augmented reality to allow you to take photos and input your favourite players into them. You could have a photo of you and your family at dinner with Roger Federer hitting shots on the table or Andy Murray posing on your desk at work. It’s a fun extra that I’m sure people will really enjoy playing with.

Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition is out on 22nd February, 2012. Its currently less than £25 at ShopTo.net which also appears to be the cheapest around.
