Killzone 3 beta is PSN+ only
PlayStation platform holder Sony has confirmed that the beta for what could be PS3’s biggest game of 2011 will only be available to those signed up to PSN+ – the premium subscription arm of the PSN network.
It was only a matter of time until a particularly juicy carrot like this was dangled in front of PS3 owners.
Previously early access to things such as the PES 2011 and RUSE demos was reserved for PSN+ users, but this Killzone 3 offer is likely to lure in plenty of new customers.
The beta, which will go live on October 25th, will only be available to the first 10,000 PAL PSN+ subscribers who download the Killzone 3 XMB theme from the PSN+ section of the PlayStation Store.
It will be available from October 14th. Killzone 3 looks likely to be a commercial smash for Sony in 2011. As well as featuring the series’ trademark gritty sci-fi single player campaign it will also boast extensive online functionality and, for the first time in the series, stereoscopic 3D support.

Medal of Honor Hands On
After downloading and installing the game I was greeted with the ‘bearded man’ that we see on all the artwork and boxart. Then when I chose to play now, I had a choice between doing a mission or just taking it online. I chose to try the mission and was sat waiting for someone to join me for over 15 minutes and to be honest, I got bored. So online I went.
The game soon had be face to face with numerous bullets in Kabul City Ruins which is currently the only online map available, I am hoping more will be released before the game goes live because I am sure that the whole point in a BETA is that we test out numerous functions. There is 3 types of soldier to play as whether your the Americans or the Insurgents, all with their own skill.
The Weapons.
Insurgents
* Rifleman (AK-47)
* Sniper (SVD)
* Special Ops (AKS74U)
Coalition/US Army
* Rifleman (M16)
* Sniper (M21)
* Special Ops (M4 CQC)
This game felt alot more like a love child of Battlefield Bad Company from EA and Activisions Modern Warfare 2. Which is not always a bad thing but what we need is a game that is not like those but actually something quite original. Its definately a step in the right direction for Medal of Honor as most gamers are fed up of playing through World War 2. I would love to see a console version of Battlefield 2142 or at least something fairly similar. The HALO series is not what I mean.

Despite the fact that there is only one map of which I have failed to unlock any of the other weapons yet I have been told that there is UNLOCKABLE BEARDS! I don’t know if this is true or a lie but if it is true – why?
I will bring an up to date article to you if anything changes such as maps or game modes, but until then I have a war to fight/die on.
