Andrew Thompson, Head of Games at Asda says:

The official worldwide release date is Friday 9th March, 00:01 and the game will be available in over 390 Asda stores and on www.asda.com.

When Mass Effect 2 was released you had the option to import your character from Mass Effect, I believe there was some other bonuses too but can’t remember – my brain has gone all 8-bit recently. Anyway,  Mass Effect executive producer, Mike Gamble has told a few people NOT to delete their game saves. Mr Gamble is being very tight lipped about why he came out and said this. It has been said a few months back that Bioware is not done with Mass Effect. They may be done with Commander Shepard but Mass Effect as a series is not finished.

So how do we know Mass Effect ain’t finished?
Well this quote from a recent Gamerzine article with Mike Gamble suggests that Mass Effect is far from over:

“It wouldn’t be a bad idea (to keep your ME3 saves),”“Obviously I can’t say anything, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea…”

Then there is the quote at the end of the recent trailer released for Mass Effect where Martin Sheen/The illusive man says:

“Stay Tuned. I aint done yet”

Its not a secret that Mass Effect 3 is going to be a huge game. Especially if you have played Mass Effect 1 and 2. The game will be released around the beginning of March 2011 so here’s a video trailer and some other info…

Mass Effect 3 will not only be a console release but it will be available on PC. This marks the first time the Mass Effect franchise will launch on all three major platforms simultaneously. Also at the Spike VGAs, the game’s predecessor, Mass Effect 2 was awarded with the “Best RPG” and “Best Xbox 360 Game” of the year awards and BioWare was named “Studio of the Year”. It’s humanity’s last stand and as usual it’s only Shepard that can save us.
