Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC ‘Opponent: Lightning & Amodar’

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIII-2′s first Coliseum Battle is now available from the Xbox Live Marketplace, starting with a DLC pack entitled ‘Opponent: Lightning & Amodar’. The new add-on enables you to take on Lieutenant Amodar, who is an elite member of Cocoon’s specialist military, Guardian Corps; and Final Fantasy XIII heroine Lightning. You’ll be able to battle both characters via the DLC, and should you defeat them, you can add them to your party.

There’ll be more packs like these on the way offering more Coliseum Battles to tackle and more characters to add to your team. Serah’s Azrael bow is also available to buy today as DLC for 80 Micrsoft Points, exclusively for Xbox 360 players. You can purchase the Opponent: Lightning & Amodar pack now for 240 Microsoft Points here. Also it will be available for £1.59 on the PlayStation Network when it’s released tomorrow (8th Feb 2012).

The problem is in order to get some DLC for a game you gotta buy something else. However, EA have changed that slightly by announcing that playing the demo of Mass Effect 3 & Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning unlocks new content for the opposite game.

So for example if you check out the demo for Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning you will get Mass Effect 3 DLC and vice versa.

So here is what you get from each demo.

Mass Effect 3 Demo which is out on February 14th, which was announced here gives you the following for Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning.

N7 Armor: Players can unlock special armor inspired by Commander Shepard’s iconic N7 battle armor including helm, cuirass, gauntlets, chausses, and greaves.
Onmiblade Daggers: A holographic blade stemming from Commander Shepard’s Omni-Tool, the Omni-blade allows players to stab enemies in close combat. Once players install and play the Mass Effect 3 demo, they will unlock the daggers.

Kingdoms of Amalur Content

Playing Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning demo which is out now gives you the following for Mass Effect 3.

Reckoner Knight Armor: This armor will maximize damage done in close-quarters combat while a beefed-up power cell feeds energy into weapon systems to increase projectile velocity.
The Chakram Launcher: This weapon uses a fabricator to manufacture lightweight, explosive ammunition discs. This weapon is earned after completing the Reckoning demo and watching the trailer at the end.
ME3 Content

Those who play the Kingdoms of Amalur demo will also unlock the following items for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning:
- Twist of Fate Card: This card boosts the player’s ice resistance and is immediately unlocked when he or she activates the Reckoning demo using his or her Origin account.
- Twinned Souls Chakram: A unique weapon that damages enemies while boosting player health and mana in Reckoning.
- The Infernal Helm: Unlocked after completing the Reckoning Tutorial Mode, this protective helmet increases players’ fire damage throughout Amalur.

Ubisoft has debuted the Mediterranean Traveller Map Pack, all-new downloadable content for Assassin’s Creed Revelations for the Xbox 360 and Windows PC. The Mediterranean Traveller Map Pack will be available for PlayStation3 computer entertainment system starting tomorrow, January 25, on the PlayStation Network.

The Mediterranean Traveller Map Pack enriches the Assassin’s Creed Revelations multiplayer experience with features that include:

Activision has lit the fuse on the highly-anticipated Modern Warfare® 3 Content Season for Call of Duty® Elite, with the release of two all-new multiplayer maps, the opening salvo of nine consecutive months of downloadable content for Call of Duty® Elite’s premium members on Xbox LIVE.

Call of Duty Elite Drop 1: Liberation, a militarised Central Park in the heart of NYC, featuring a vast landscape ripe for long-range sniper and LMG kills. Mounted turrets on opposing ends of the map offer overwhelming firepower to anyone brave enough to man them. Elite Drop 2: Piazza, set in an idyllic seaside village, Italian getaway gone rogue, where blind corners and a complex network of branching pathways pose danger at every turn. Visceral close-quarters combat dominates in Piazza, and attacks from above and below are an ever-constant threat.

The Fenix Rising Map Pack adds five new multiplayer maps: Academy, Anvil, Depths, The Slab and a remake of Escalation from the original Gears of War. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Pre-Order Specials

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City delivers a true third-person team-based shooter experience set within the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe. Not only does this setting provide a rich backdrop to the action but it also delivers a unique and brutal triple-threat battle. Zombies and Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W.s) add to the mix as players compete against their team’s opposing squad and tackle this third, unpredictable element that could only exist in the twisted Resident Evil universe.The result is a brand new style of gameplay that breaks the conventions of traditional third person shooters. It is September 1998 and the action centres on the ill-fated Raccoon City. When the Umbrella Corporation learns that one of its top scientists, Dr. William Birkin, plans to sell the experimental G-Virus to the US Government they order an elite team of Umbrella Security Service (USS) soldiers led by Hunk into their secret research facility to secure the only known sample of the virus. The operation takes a turn for the worse when Dr. Birkin injects himself with the last vial, mutating into a deadly creature, G-Birkin and over powering the team. During the battle the deadly ‘t-Virus’ is leaked into the sewers and spread through Raccoon City, infecting the entire population.

Hearing of the outbreak, the USS team is given fresh orders to destroy all evidence of Umbrella’s involvement and silence anyone that might discover the truth. The Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure service (UBCS) is also deployed to help contain the situation. Meanwhile the US Government has quarantined the city and dispatched its own team of special operatives to determine the source of the mysterious outbreak. Caught up in the chaos are rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Players take on the role of an Umbrella Security Soldier (U.S.S) and battle against all the competing forces at play in Raccoon City. Choose from six characters,each one equipped with a unique skill set, including the female field scientist Four-Eyes who can manipulate the T-virus and take control of the B.O.W’s raiding the streets of Raccoon City or the weapons expert and U.S.S team captain Lupo.

CheapyD, one of the founders of Cheap Ass Gamers is coming to Saints Row: The Third as a DLC homie on the 17th. True to his namesake, he will be free.CheapyD (or David Abrams, as he’s known by his family) bid $1,725 on a charity auction last year to get included as a extra character. The charity helped the family of Ashley Ames, who passed away tragically after a fire in 2010.
