Marvel: Avengers Alliance arriving soon on Facebook!

On behalf of Disney Interactive Media Group, I’m delighted to be able to share with you the first details about Marvel: Avengers Alliance, a new game developed by Playdom. This is the first Marvel title for Facebook, and also represents the first Disney entertainment brand to come to Facebook gaming.Marvel: Avengers Alliance provides a combat role playing game experience with dozens of familiar Marvel superheroes and villains to be collected, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Wolverine, Hawkeye, Black Widow and many more. Once a hero is added to the Avengers team, players can begin training them to unlock unique abilities and attacks, as well as using “ISO-8″ to further customize each character’s stats. Players will also be able to face-off against each other, challenging their social graph in super-powered asynchronous PvP battles.

Marvel: Avengers Alliance takes place in the wake of a galaxy-wide disaster, known as “the Pulse,” exposing Manhattan to attack from Marvel’s most formidable villains. Players are recruited as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., the secret espionage and peace-keeping organization of the Marvel Universe, to assemble and lead teams of superheroes with a mission to keep New York City safe from the clutches of villains.

Star Supremacy launches into Facebook to start 2012

After weeks of hard work, Barbily is proud to announce the launch of the facebook version of their sci-fi MMORTS, Star Supremacy. The facebook version of the game will allow facebook users to login and play the game using their own facebook account.

“Facebook is the platform for many social game publishers. It serves as the venue where millions of users login to play games on a daily basis. Launching Star Supremacy as a facebook game will allow us to not only expose our brand and product to the facebook community but to also help us with improving our game and driving traffic. We are very excited to make our debut into the facebook community. We anticipate much success. We encourage users to take a break from other RTS games and come play our game. What makes us different from CityVille, FarmVille, CastleVille, or even Empires & Allies is that we are a sci-fi RTS game. ”

“We’ve read a lot of feedback from players both inside and outside our forums. Players expect a lot from a browser-based RTS. I am proud to say that our developers are working very fast and very hard to bring out new features and big fixes on a weekly basis.”

The Star Supremacy team has prepared some events for players to celebrate the launch.

There will be three GMs in the game. Each of them has two non-initial colonies on the non-initial planets (3 GMs x 2 colonies each = 6 colonies in total). Their colonies are filled with massive resources. You can assault these colonies. Please do not set up trade route on these colonies or obliterate these colonies. Doing so will cause GMs to revenge! The coordinates of the six colonies will be announced on Star Supremacy’s official Facebook Page. After the announcement, the GMs will refill their colonies every 24 hours as well as every week and re-announce them. The first two attackers of each colony will get three rare resource cards (three different types). Each player can only get the rare resource cards once after one announcement. It does not matter how many colonies a player attacks. Each player will be rewarded once after that has attacked a GM colony. 12 winners per week will be rewarded.

Also when the “Likes” on Star Supremacy Facebook page reaches 500, 1000, everyone of Star Supremacy will receive gifts. What is more, when the page reaches 30,000 likes, 3 randomly selected players will win a gaming headset–Ear Force X11 Amplified Stereo Headset with Chat!

Good morning/afternoon/evening GhostStorm readers. Would you like to WIN something?
I have some great news. I have a Gears of War 3 Vault by Calibur 11 and one copy of the game to giveaway to one lucky person who comments on this Facebook post. Unlike other competitions I have ran where it has been Twitter based or site based this is entirely to those who “like” the Facebook page and who comment on that thread. I do have some additional guidelines which are set below so please read them thoroughly.

First off and what is the most important fact is that the game is rated 18 so even though anyone of any age may enter the competition I will more than likely choose someone who is over the age of 18. Secondly the Gears of War 3 Vault is for the Xbox 360 Slim. There will be no cash alternative is point number 3 and the final point is that this competition is only open to UK residents.

The competition will close on Saturday 8th October 2011.

On all of the trailers and screenshots for Mass Effect titles there is always a guy who they use, but things are about to change. Over on the Mass Effect facebook page you can vote for the hair colour that they will use for the female Shephard instead. The choices right now are Blonde,Brunette,Black and Ginger/Red.

So head over to the facebook page and “Like” your choice…..Also just remember as with the previous Mass Effect title you can still change the look of your Commander Shephard when you first start the game.

I voted for the Ginger/Red hair as I felt it suited the character more, which one did you vote for?

The demo includes four tutorial missions and one campaign mission, which will set players on a quest to become the ultimate leader of a Caribbean island empire. In Tropico 4, players will assume the role of the newly elected El Presidente who must build his island’s economy from a financial backwater to a world class economic superpower. New features include interactive disasters, additional nations (including Europe, the Middle East and China) to negotiate with and much more. Tropico 4 sees you return as El Presidente, the tyrannical (or benevolent) dictator of the island paradise of Tropico.
