Battlefield 4 IS Real and Confirmed By EA
EA launches ‘Project HONOR’ programme in aid of fallen special ops warriors.
NEW Gameplay Trailer for Medal Of Honor: Warfighter
Medal of Honor: Warfighter is not only powered by the Frostbite 2 Engine which is what brings destruction to games like Battlefield 3 but it is also inspired by actual events across the globe and written by real Tier 1 Operators while deployed overseas. The game allows you to follow the global Warfighters as they are asked to take on a real terror threat, PETN.
EA – Unhappy about Medal of Honor
Patrick Soderlund, EA’s boss of driving and shooting titles, has admitted to disappointment about the critical reception to Medal Of Honor.
“The game didn’t meet our quality expectations,”
he told Eurogamer.
“In order to be successful in that space, we’re going to have to have a game that is really, really strong.”
Nonetheless, he felt that “Medal of Honor is to some extent judged harsher than it should be. The game is better than today’s reviews are indicating.”
The Afghanistan-set shooter has a Metacritic average of 75 per cent.
While he refused to give sales figures, he claimed they would be revealed in tonight’s EA financials. However, he hinted it may not have met expectations.
“I just think the market is obviously telling us they think the game is X. We need to convince the market we can make something they appreciate more, particularly to be able to compete.
“We’re taking that seriously. I’m not at all saying Medal of Honor is a failure. It is a successful reboot of that franchise. We’re going to be strong in the future.”

Medal of Honor Review
Medal of Honor has been on leave now for about 3 years and when I heard about it returning to duty I was pleased, finally a new game that will show Battlefield Bad Company and the Call of Duty fan boys who really is the boss.
That was embraced even more so with the release of this trailer:
Oh how I was left disappointed!
First off I am not saying that the game is bad all the way through, but there were moments. The graphics were very nice too, the night sequences are nothing special but when that sun comes out then MOH shines.
I really enjoyed some of the missions, and others left me a little annoyed as I didn’t know where I was meant to be for the next scripted sequence to begin. Also I felt that the single player campaign was a little short if I’m honest and to be fair for a game that has been off the scene for about 3 years I thought the campaign could have been slightly better in parts.
Don’t get me wrong its great that Medal of Honor has left the WW2 surroundings alone but I don’t think this is a great game for the reboot, maybe that will change in the next Medal of Honor?
That said it is clear that the single player has been worked on and thought out a lot more so if you are not bothered about the online side of the game then rent the game/borrow from a friend and have a blast and some giggles too on the single player. Especially the “Friends from Afar” mission, it’s definitely one of my faves and is a fine example of the gore that you will not see in multiplayer.
OK so on to Multiplayer.
It’s no secret that the game was released with only 8 maps and these are pretty well designed, and despite the multiplayer being dealt with from the minds behind Bad Company you will not feel like you are playing one of their titles at all. The buildings will not explode and in fact the only similarity I can see with Medal of Honors Multiplayer and Battlefield is the fact you have soldiers, enemies, bullets and people on headsets playing music. One of the most annoying things on the multiplayer I thought was the fact that there was no way to see who was talking/shouting abuse/playing music or in my case crying. Unlike MW2 and other games you do not have a name that shows so you cant ignore them unless you want to mute your TV. The multiplayer is clearly built around the thought of team play and to be successful on each map you really do need to work as a team and not be a lone wolf. Not only has the exploding head shots gone from multiplayer but also the fact that there is no sliding to cover, the ability to lay down – which you would expect is needed for snipers to…snipe. Also unlike the single player, you cannot look around corners without stepping out which puts yourself and other team mates locations for all the Opposing Force/Taliban to see.
Also another thing that got me annoyed was just as you think you’ve ducked behind cover in time to dodge a bullet, it’s already too late, and with no kill cam you may find yourself shouting abuse at your screen or bemused as to how you were killed leading to the same mistake over and over, it is also apparent that the Taliban weaponry does feel a little more powerful and I am not sure if that is a personal belief or one of fact – you be the judge and let me know please.
In addition, the classes are also very basic and have a poorly executed upgrade system. No matter what class you choose, you’re severely unbalanced from the get-go. Other players are like bullet sponges with your weak starting weapons, and scoring kills will most likely only come from head shots
The major let down for me, if you haven’t guessed is the multiplayer. It really does feel rushed and that’s a shame as if worked on as much as the single player it really could have taken the lead and stole all them online gunslingers from Modern Warfare 2 but instead it leaves a lot of annoying people behind. Its also very apparent that players who have spent a good amount of time with Battlefield: Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 1943 in the last year will have a much easier time getting used to things than Modern Warfare players will. You are going to need to learn each gun’s particular quirks, whether they be accuracy in close and at range, how important centre mass is to scoring kills, and how many kills you can pull off before reloading. There’s a constant juggling of factors involved. However, Battlefield players will need to adjust to much faster combat. Also, sniper rifles can work effectively at short range as bolt-action rifles, which is going to surprise unsuspecting assault classes. Also if you want ‘killstreaks’ then that’s not gonna happen, you do get ‘support actions’ but they just aren’t as good as a Nuke at 25 kills.
So I am gonna give this game a 6.5 because even though the story seems great and the graphics are really nice, I don’t see why anyone would want to leave Modern Warfare 2 or Battlefield Bad Company 2 for this attempt at a Medal of Honor reboot.
EA removes Taliban from Medal Of Honor
It has been reported on MCVUK that The Taliban will no longer features in EA’s upcoming console and PC shooter Medal of Honor.
The game had received lots of media attention thanks to its inclusion of the Taliban as a playable faction in its multiplayer mode. It had seemed that EA had successfully rode the choppy waters and emerged unscathed on the other side.
However, speaking on the Medal of Honor blog executive producer Greg Goodrich has confirmed that Taliban have been renamed ‘Opposing Force’ in the game.
“In the past few months, we have received feedback from all over the world regarding the multiplayer portion of Medal of Honor,” he stated. “We’ve received notes from gamers, active military, and friends and family of servicemen and women currently deployed overseas. The majority of this feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. For this, the Medal of Honor team is deeply appreciative.
“However, we have also received feedback from friends and families of fallen soldiers who have expressed concern over the inclusion of the Taliban in the multiplayer portion of our game. This is a very important voice to the Medal of Honor team. This is a voice that has earned the right to be listened to. It is a voice that we care deeply about.
“Because of this, and because the heartbeat of Medal of Honor has always resided in the reverence for American and Allied soldiers, we have decided to rename the opposing team in Medal of Honor multiplayer from Taliban to Opposing Force.
“While this change should not directly affect gamers, as it does not fundamentally alter the gameplay, we are making this change for the men and women serving in the military and for the families of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice – this franchise will never willfully disrespect, intentionally or otherwise, your memory and service.”
Medal of Honor Hands On
After downloading and installing the game I was greeted with the ‘bearded man’ that we see on all the artwork and boxart. Then when I chose to play now, I had a choice between doing a mission or just taking it online. I chose to try the mission and was sat waiting for someone to join me for over 15 minutes and to be honest, I got bored. So online I went.
The game soon had be face to face with numerous bullets in Kabul City Ruins which is currently the only online map available, I am hoping more will be released before the game goes live because I am sure that the whole point in a BETA is that we test out numerous functions. There is 3 types of soldier to play as whether your the Americans or the Insurgents, all with their own skill.
The Weapons.
Insurgents
* Rifleman (AK-47)
* Sniper (SVD)
* Special Ops (AKS74U)
Coalition/US Army
* Rifleman (M16)
* Sniper (M21)
* Special Ops (M4 CQC)
This game felt alot more like a love child of Battlefield Bad Company from EA and Activisions Modern Warfare 2. Which is not always a bad thing but what we need is a game that is not like those but actually something quite original. Its definately a step in the right direction for Medal of Honor as most gamers are fed up of playing through World War 2. I would love to see a console version of Battlefield 2142 or at least something fairly similar. The HALO series is not what I mean.

Despite the fact that there is only one map of which I have failed to unlock any of the other weapons yet I have been told that there is UNLOCKABLE BEARDS! I don’t know if this is true or a lie but if it is true – why?
I will bring an up to date article to you if anything changes such as maps or game modes, but until then I have a war to fight/die on.
