One of the biggest demands from Sims 3 fans is Pets. Sims 2 had them and Sims 3 should have had them from launch, but didnt. However, today EA have announced that Pets are back.
Unique to the Xbox 360 experience and for the first time in The Sims’ history players with Kinect™ can take control of their pets and Sims by voice commands, like telling their Sim to be romantic or feeding their dog.
I have been told that the EA Online Store will be running some cool promotions on the run up to christmas. For example right now you can get 25% off 800 Bioware Points which is great for you who need them. Perhaps you need more points? well there is currently 50% off 1600 Bioware Points. Also starting on 15th November, there will 25% off first person shooter games (PCDD only).
The offers up to Christmas will change every week and also do not stop any other offer, clicking the banner will take you to the EA Store where you can check out the various offers.
Stuff Packs have always been a great way to keep people amazed at what new things EA have come up with to make an already great game even more great. Sims 2 had loads and now Sims 3 is building up quite a collection, the newest arrival is Sims 3 Fast Lane Stuff.
It includes 12 new vehicles for Sims to drive, including some classic looking cars, a scooter similar (but not identical) to the one in the World Adventures Expansion Pack, and a motorcycle. Also there are four “Styles” that break up the items offered in the pack, each of which offer a number of cars set to that theme. Some of the Styles also offer some car-themed furnishings for your Sim’s home or garage. Given that garage-décor has been somewhat limited, this is actually a nice addition to the game, especially for those who love to fill each room with plenty of decorations and trinkets to make their Sim’s home feel that little bit more real. These styles are:
This includes traffic cones, flashing lights, a trophy case and some wall-mountable road signs, including one for gnome crossing. There’s also a tool-chest, a workstation and hammer. You also get a great looking racing car.
This one offers sims three sleek and sporty looking cars. This is like a James Bond set, really cool.
This style takes it old school and will have you wishing your Sims could jump onto the hood of their classic car and sing along to “Grease”. The Style includes a neon wall sign, a vintage looking gas pump and a funky bar with license plates all over the front of it. I also noted that there’s an option to play Rockabilly music on the radio, which definitely adds to the atmosphere.
This final style offers a new couch and love-seat, as well as a desk, floor lamp and fancy clock thingy. The design for these items are simple and would actually work nicely for Sims who aren’t looking to make their living room look like the interior of a mechanics garage. Among the cars offered in this style is a fancy looking convertible.
In terms of game play, there’s a new trait offered called Vehicle Enthusiast, which allows your Sim to name their vehicle right away (without having to spend time with it first) and their relationship with the car improves faster.
I guess the more important question is.
Well as a Sims 3 fan i’ll say yes, definately even if you are not an enthusiast of cars etc because there is a lot more that is brought to you. I can’t score it really as its not a full game but I guess it would be closer to 10 than 1. You can check more info on the stuff pack here: The Sims Wikia.
Here is behind the scenes footage.
