Today, Ubisoft  announced the forthcoming release of Just Dance Kids on the Wii, Kinect for Xbox 360and the PlayStation Move for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. Developed especially for young kids by Land Ho!, Just Dance Kids will feature 40 songs, including today’s hottest hits, as well as popular songs from kids’ favourite TV shows and movies and mixes of classic kids songs in several languages. In addition, the game includes Just Dance Kids also contains all-new features exclusive to each platform and will be released in the UK on November 4, 2011.

GAME, the UK’s leading games retailer, today announces the addition of games publisher Ubisoft to the line-up of this year’s eagerly anticipated gaming show, GAMEfest.

Ubisoft will be showcasing hotly awaited releases including Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Just Dance 3, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Your Shape Evolved: Fitness 2. Visitors to GAMEfest will be able to get an early look at these games months before they go on general release across the UK.

Ubisoft buys Michael Jackson Developer

According to an artcile on GamesIndustry.biz the huge games publisher Ubisoft have acquired Canadian developer Longtail Studios Quebec.

The article then goes on to say that nearly 50 employees were transferred to Ubisoft Quebec, with a small number rumoured to have lost their jobs.

Longtail’s Queubec branch is most recently responsible for Dance on Broadway and Michael Jackson: The Experience (both are Ubisoft titles).

“The Longtail team has already completed several important projects for Ubisoft,”

the publisher told local paper Le Soleil.

“This initiative will allow Ubisoft Quebec to acquire additional expertise, as well as talented and experienced developers who participated in the development of key Kinect projects including Michael Jackson: The Experience. ”

Longtail’s three other studios and its NYC corporate offices are unaffected, but the employees joining Ubisoft constitute around half of the organisation’s total staff.

The company claims it will increase headcounts at its Halifax branch in order to ramp up development.
