Dead Island To Leave Its Mark On Xbox LIVE Marketplace
Deep Silver today revealed that shortly before the release of the highly anticipated Dead Island™ at the beginning of September, the four characters of the game will also leave their mark on the Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, offering players the possibility to extend their experience with Dead Island onto the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360.
Gamers can choose the outfits from any of the four protagonists of Dead Island:
· former Hong Kong police officer Xian Mei, assassin character and sharp weapons expert
· ex-football star Logan, the all-rounder in the team and throwing expert
· one-hit-wonder-rapper Sam B, the tank character and blunt weapons expert
· and professional bodyguard Purna, leader character and firearms expert.
Additionally, items from Dead Island will be available for the players’ avatars – e.g. a paddle symbolising the melee combat focus in the game – or from the famous trailer – like the Hawaiian shirt known from the fat zombie or the father’s brown polo shirt. Additional Dead Island fan items range from themed apparel to props with which fans can show off their zombie-killing interest to friends: http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Search?query=dead%20island&DownloadType=AvatarItem
About Dead Island
Dead Island™, the upcoming gruesome zombie action game with RPG elements by renowned developer Techland, combines first-person action with a heavy focus on melee combat, character development and customisation of a vast array of weapons. All of these gameplay features are presented in a dark story inspired by classic zombie movies with a gritty and engrossing campaign that can be played with up to four players in co-op mode.
Set in an open world tropical island, hordes of different festering zombies await players around every corner while they embark on a variety of thrilling missions through the holiday resort. With firearms and ammunition being scarce the player must rely on discovering and utilising items as weapons for self-defense and fighting off zombie hordes in intense melee combat. A diverse range of items can be collected and will later serve to transform the player’s ordinary makeshift weapons into serious instruments of destruction.

Combat Arms gets Re-Armed!
Today, Nexon continues their dedication to regular and excellent game updates for their Free to Play FPS, Combat Arms with a raft of new content designed to delight new and old ‘soldiers’ alike!
Here is a rundown of some of the new features being integrated into the highly popular shooter:
Zombie Alert in Combat Arms!
In the fantastic new PvE Fireteam mission “Black Lung”, the hunt for the deadly virus sample created by the Nemexis Corp continues, picking up directly where “Operation: Overdose” ended. This new PvE Co-Op mission begins in an abandoned mine, consisting of a network of branching tunnels filled to the brim with ravenous, aggressive zombies. The objective is to eliminate all of the infected and eventually seal off the entire mining-complex, to prevent any further outbreak of the deadly virus.
Lock and Load, Soldier!
To aid their brave troops on this vital mission, Nexon is providing them with brand new weapons; including some heavy machine guns for those with twitchy trigger fingers – good aiming is not a primary concern here… better to spray and pray than to fall foul to a face full of zombie! These weapons are available in both PvE and PvP combat, so you can test them on both undead and human targets.
Winter Sale opens today!
This November, Nexon will be introducing special deals to the in-game store, with new goods rotating weekly until the end of the month. To celebrate Guy Fawkes Night, the first discounted items will be explosive items, allowing any budding anarchists to indulge their tendencies to the full in Combat Arms battles! Daily Reward Events will also be implemented from today, with bonus items awarded to players just for logging in to Combat Arms in the month of November!
To celebrate these updates, Nexon is also promoting a “Capture the Video” event, where players are encouraged to record and upload their successful Black Lung raids. The lucky winner will receive a €100 voucher for the item store; visit http://forum.nexoneu.com/NXEU.aspx?g=topics&f=170 for more details on this competition.

Dead Rising 2 has COOL DLC incoming – quicker than a ninja!
Just when you thought you’ve dressed Chuck in every outfit imaginable, Capcom’s excited to announce four new DLC Theme Packs that will include a host of new skills, weapons and some great new looks for Chuck. In the next few weeks, Dead Rising 2 players will get a chance to dress up Chuck as either an insane Psychopath, a sleek ninja, a crazy sports fanatic or a kick-ass soldier. Each theme pack will be available to download via the PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE to enhance your Dead Rising 2 experience. What’s more, players can even mix and match the packs they have downloaded – select the Ninja shoes, Sports Fan hat, Psycho jacket and Soldier of Fortune trousers – to get all the abilities each pack offers and create the ultimate Chuck.
Dead Rising In London
In anticipation of today’s release of the zombie killing Dead Rising 2 from Capcom, fans from around the country were invited to attend a special early opening at HMV on London’s Oxford Street to secure their copies one day early.
The dedicated fans dressed in their best Zombie outfits, with the best invited to take part in a photo shoot in their full un-dead attire.
The photos were taken in and around Kensington Olympia, where the crew were scheduled to meet before their march on Oxford Street. The fans stopped to scare a few customers at a nearby laundrette, before stopping in at George’s – a typical London ‘greasy spoon’ cafe – where the staff were only too happy to accommodate a few living dead customers amongst the regulars.
“Dead Rising was a really different game at the time it came out and I ended up playing it more than anything else,” commented Tom Hoskins, one of the intrepid Dead Rising fans. “The sequel had been on pre-order for me for a while now, but when I heard about this I thought it would be a good chance to get it early!”
The early launch day follows on from the announcement on Tuesday of the Dead Rising 2 Top Movie Deaths List. Research undertaken in the build up to the game’s release placed John Hurt’s stomach-busting scene in the film Alien at number one, with honourable mentions going to the opening scene in Jaws, Dennis Hopper’s demise in the final stages of Speed and the T-Rex attack in Jurassic Park amongst others.
Developed by Canadian studio Blue Castle Games in close collaboration with Capcom, Dead Rising 2 builds on the success of the original with thousands of zombies on screen at any one time. The combo weapon system introduces a whole new level of innovation where players are encouraged to combine the hundreds of objects found in the all new environment of Fortune City to produce a devastating array of zombie mashing devices.
Dead Rising 2 is out for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 today, with the PC version due for launch on the 28th September.
Here is a pic of some Zombies, I think the old man in the background looks quite realistic but he needs to look more a live though, and im also hoping thats a sausage on that plate!
